Numbers 14:24 - Another Spirit

Exposition

Caleb was one of the 12 spies sent by Moses to spy the land promised to the people of Israel. The spies came back after 40 days to report that, indeed the land was filled with milk and honey. 10 of the 12 spies concluded that because the land was inhabited by giants it would be impossible to possess the land. Caleb and Joshua disagreed with their colleagues and told Moses that they should move forward to possess the land. The people were afraid but Caleb was not.
Caleb was confident of victory because He knew God was with them. He was convinced that whatever God says always comes to pass. He was not afraid of being in the minority.
The people saw obstacles and defeat but Caleb saw easy passage and victory. All the people walked by sight but Caleb walked by faith. God punished every adult because of their murmuring against Him but Caleb and Joshua were spared.
Caleb had another Spirit and He followed the Lord fully. The person who has the seed of greatness will not waver in the face of challenges. When you become born again, you receive a new heart which enables you to follow the Lord fully. Obedience borne out of faith in Jesus Christ is essential to greatness.
Be encouraged to follow the Lord fully. Live as one who has another spirit. It will profit you both here on earth and in heaven too.

Prayer

Help me, Lord, to start living as one with a new heart. I do not want to follow you, Lord, only when it is convenient for me. Help me to be dependent on you and you alone. Help me to be strong in you and in the power of your might. Grant me boldness to stand firm in my faith in the face of the possible tyranny of the majority in Jesus name. Amen
