Exposition
if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He
cannot deny Himself – It is wiser to begin by talking about
what the verse is NOT saying. It
does not mean that whether we believe or not, because God is faithful, we will
enjoy the benefits of His faithfulness.
One of the greatest attributes of God is that He is faithful. He is
trustworthy and faithful to His words. His faithfulness implies that He is true
to His words and to Himself. What He has done before, He will do again. He
tells us that if we believe in Jesus Christ, we will be saved. Jesus Christ has
come to give those who believe abundant life.
Therefore the verse means that whosoever does not believe will not be
saved. To make it simpler, anyone who says I believe and lives as one who does not
believe should not expect a holy God to go contrary to Himself and save Him or
bless him.
The trigger of blessing from God is faith.
Prayer
Help me Father to live a
life of complete faith in Jesus Christ. I certainly want to enjoy every benefit
of my faith both here on earth and in eternity too. You have promised you will
not deny yourself. Therefore let there be a release of your blessings upon me
in Jesus mighty name. Amen
