Psalm 51:10 - A New Heart

Exposition
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me – David had acknowledged his sin and with a repentant heart, he asked that he be cleansed because his sin had soiled his heart. The Almighty who created man is the only One who can exchange the dirty heart and replace it with a clean one. The cleansing agent is the blood of Jesus Christ which He shed on the cross for the sins of the world.

David asked for a right spirit which would be firm and would not yield to temptation. He wanted to go back to where he was before he sinned. This was fine, but I encourage you to ask for a clean heart for another reason today.

The person that wants to yield to God’s request for intercessors requires a clean heart. Intercession requires giving yourself up for God. It is a complete denial of self. It is total surrender to God. Your prayer for a clean heart is because you want the Holy Spirit to take over your life.

You can ask that anything that will impede your prayer life be removed by your Maker. Ask God to help you deal with any issues that can stop you praying for anyone. The intercessor is humble; ask God to take away completely every form of pride because God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

Many of us struggle with unforgiveness and this becomes an impediment to prayer. Some go to the extent of saying I can forgive but I will not forget so as not to be hurt again. The person on God’s assignment will be ready to pray for anyone as directed by the Holy Spirit.

You can do it. Make that decision today.

Prayer
Let there be an exchange today. Give me a new heart that will be yielded to you completely in Jesus name. I give my consent for spiritual surgery. Let there be complete separation between me and everything that will not allow me to serve you in prayer. Release an abundance of grace over me now in Jesus name. Amen

Psalm 24::7 - Let the King of Glory Come In

It is believed that the writer of this beautiful Psalm was referring to the gates of the temple that would be built by King Solomon.  The Psalmist wrote that when the temple is dedicated, the ark of covenant would be carried into it and the glory of the LORD would fill the temple

Exposition

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in – how can you relate to this?
Gates are built for protection and to keep away the unwanted. Gates would usually have locks held by the inhabitants/owners of the house. Your heart has a gate and you own the keys. You can open up and allow the King of glory to come in.
You can allow the gospel of Jesus Christ to come in by receiving and acknowledging that Jesus Christ died for you.
You can open up for the glory of God to envelope you and your future will be secured in the King of glory. The glory of God brings favour and victory over agents of the enemy. Do not continue to miss out.

Prayer
Come into my life Lord. Let all opposition to the gospel of Jesus Christ be defeated now in Jesus name. Open my heart to understand what Jesus has done for me.
Let your glory fill my life and all that concerns me from this moment O God. Thank you for this opportunity. Let your name be glorified in Jesus name. Amen

Job 22:23 - Return to God

Exposition

If thou return to the Almighty – To return to the Almighty is to make your home in Him. Many come to God only in times of crisis and as soon as the situation changes, they go back to living apart from Him. The call is to put your life completely in His hands.

thou shalt be built up – The Scriptures tell us He has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. Being built up is being blessed on all sides. Your ministry and your home are blessed. Your children are blessed. Your business and your job are blessed. All you have lost is returned many times over. You become a source of blessing to those around you.
thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles – Putting away iniquity is simply no longer living in sin. Your tabernacle is both your heart and your physical dwelling place. There is a zero tolerance for sin.
To be built up by the Almighty, there is a heavenly shift. Make the good choice today.

Prayer
I need your help Lord in putting away sin, both big and small from my life.
Help me father to wake up from my slumber. Help me to return to you permanently today. Help me father to resist the cares of the world. Let the grip of the enemy be broken in Jesus name.
I receive by faith all that I have ever lost in Jesus name. I know there is nothing too hard for you to do in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Exposition
If you have decided to submit to the government of our Lord Jesus Christ as the previous verse encouraged you, http://www.olatubi.com/2016/06/job-2221-knowing-god/, your next goal should be to:
Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth – a life of continuous interaction is the way to go. You receive from His mouth primarily by study of the Bible which the inspired word of God, from His Ministers and also by Him speaking directly to your heart. It is now your responsibility to bow your soul and receive in your heart what He says to you. You can start by adopting any of the Bible reading plans that are available to you today. It will benefit you greatly.

and lay up his words in thine heart – What you read in the Bible, you must also retain in your heart so that it can become a daily compass for you. You will increase in wisdom as Proverbs 3:18 says she is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retains her.

Prayer
Help me father to receive your word. Help me so I do not despise what I hear from your Ministers. Help me father to grow in wisdom as I receive your word daily in Jesus name. Importantly I pray that what I receive I will retain and the cares of the world will not swallow your word in my life in Jesus name. Amen

Psalm 119:11 - I will Hide the Word

Exposition
I have hidden your word in my heart – Vaults and safes are built to keep or hide away available items. You are showing a high regard for the word of God when you decide to hide the word of word where it can’t be stolen from you.
When your heart is filled with the word of God, light will inevitably surround you and you become
a tool in the hands of God and you are a terror to the enemy.
Start memorizing short verses today and before you know it, your memory bank is growing every day. You will be better for it.

that I might not sin against you – You care about sinning because you do not want to offend your father. A child of God should do everything he can to prevent sin.
Temptation is the gateway to sin. When you yield to temptation, sin is the result. Every human being faces temptation and the best way to deal with temptation is to call up what the word regarding the situation says. The word of God becomes deterrence from going astray.

Prayer
Help me father to value your word. Help me Father as I take baby steps to build a memory bank of your word in my heart.
Help me to fight temptation with your word. Help me in my decision making at all times.
Help me father as I live a life of holiness in Jesus name. Amen
