Psalm 103:2 - I Praise You, God

Exposition

Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me – Another translation of this verse says bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits. David wrote this Psalm after going through a very tough time. He nearly died but God in His infinite mercies saw him through.

The year is about to come to an end depending on which part of the world you are based and you made it to the end. Please take a while to reflect on what happened in the past year. You flew from place to place or drove, you arrived safely but some did not. You are aware of the death of many, young and old, but you are alive today. You survived the sicknesses and diseases that you heard killed other people. Many lost homes or investments but you have a roof over your head. Many struggled to feed, but you are healthy by the grace of God. Your marriage or home is intact despite the plan of the devil. Your children have made progress, you received promotion in many areas while many were losing their jobs or going bankrupt.

Please read through the whole chapter (Psalm 103) as it would help you in remembering things that you might have forgotten. David called on his soul to bless God. That is to say, all that you are, your soul, spirit and body should burst into song as you praise God for all that He did for you in the year that is coming to an end.

Prayer

My Father and my God, the Almighty God, my protector, my protection, my strong tower and my deliverer, I thank You for seeing me through the year. With my whole being, I appreciate and honour You for the loving kindness that You extended to me and my family. You provided for me and I was able to meet my obligations. Shame did not enter into my household, glory and honour to Your holy name.

I come to You with my hands lifted up and my heart filled with praise. I come with thanksgiving. I bless You, my King.

The New Year is in Your capable hands. I know You have already gone ahead and You will see me through in Jesus name. Amen.

1 John 4:18 - Loving God

Exposition

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear – Our father, God is love and as we are His children, we have the capacity to love Him and our neighbours too. Romans 5: 5b says the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. The day you decided to follow Jesus, love entered into you.

It is unfortunate that some rather than respond to the love of God retreat away from Him. Such people listen to negative voices that say it is hard to be a child of God and Christianity is all rules and regulations, most of which are outdated.  This is a lie from the pits of hell.

God’s love for you is perfect and your love for God in return is meant to be perfect too. Perfect love on your part is complete obedience.

Because fear hath torment, he that feareth is not made perfect in love – Decide to live in the perfect love of God , then no fear will have any hold over you. The fear of tomorrow, the fear of men, the fear of death or even the fear of the devil will be a thing of the past. Tell fear to go back to where it has come from in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer

Help me father to know and appreciate your love for me. Help me father to respond in love by obeying you all the days of my life. As I obey, I know that every promise of God will come to pass in Jesus name.

I reject fear from this day in Jesus name. I shed every grip of fear over my life in Jesus name. Amen

Jeremiah 31: 3 - His love is EVERLASTING

PRAYER

I know you have loved me from the beginning, even before I was born. I thank you and I bless your holy name.

Out of your unending mercy do not hide yourself from me. Do not be far away my Father.

You are Almighty, you do whatever you want to do, I thank you because your love for me is everlasting.

Help me so my faith grows day by day. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

1 John 4:20-21 - No more hatred

If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Prayer

Let my love for you be genuine.

Help me obey you by having a godly love for my brother.

Let hatred of my brother be a thing of the past in Jesus name. Amen.

Deuteronomy 10:12 - Loving God

And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul

Prayer

Considering the blessings you have brought my way, help me to walk in your reverential fear.

Let me live in gratitude forever in Jesus name.

Open my eyes to your ways so that I will not walk in the way of death.

Let my love for you lead me to serve you with all my heart and soul in Jesus name. Amen.

Joshua 23:11 - Loving God

Be very careful, therefore, to love the LORD your God.

Prayer

Please open my heart to know what loving you really means.

Help me to be very careful to love you LORD.

Help me LORD so I do not fall into loving lesser gods and idol worship in Jesus name. Amen

Job 23:12 - Loving the word of God

I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.

Prayer

Help me so that I obey you at all times.

Give me a heart that treasures your words; a heart that wants to dwell in your presence.

I want to fall in love with you. Open me up this day in Jesus name. Amen
