John 2:10 - Receive the best from Jesus

Exposition

Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now – Jesus Christ, His disciples and His mother were present at a wedding in Galilee. During the wedding, wine ran out which set the stage for the first miracle in the ministry of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ instructed the servants to fill the waterpots with water. After this was done, He told the servants to serve the governor who commented that the wine was better than what had been offered to guests since the wedding started.

We learn quite a bit from this first recorded miracle of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is always available to cover your shame. The wedding would have had a premature end had Jesus not solved the problem. Every likelihood of shame in your life will be taken care of by Jesus when you call on Him. All you need do is to invite Him into your life. Remember Revelation 3: 20 says Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. He is willing to provide for you as you consent to His entrance.

Please take note of what the governor said, ‘you have kept the good wine until now’. Jesus Christ has kept the best till this moment for you. As the year is coming to an end, you will receive the best from Jesus. He has not forgotten you. The Jesus who performed that miracle is available as He is the same yesterday, today and forever more.

The waterpots were filled to the brim. There was more than enough to go round. You will pray that as Jesus settles you, your cup will run over in Jesus name. It should also be noted that just as the wine provided refreshing to the guests, so too the gospel of Jesus Christ revives both the dead and the lost. You can’t afford to keep silent. There are loads of people who will be revitalised with the word of God. They are waiting for you.

Prayer

I pray that at all times I will obey every instruction given by Jesus. No matter how unrealistic the instruction might sound, I pray that God Almighty will help me to obey. I pray that at all times when there is a need to be met, Jesus will be my point of call. I will be dependent on the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. The Lord will remember me as the year is coming to an end. Every unfinished business will be sorted out in Jesus name. Amen.

John 7:37-39 - Thirsty for Jesus

Exposition

If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink – Jesus is still calling today, Jesus is available to anyone, male or female in any condition, rich or poor.
The thirst is not a physical one but a spiritual thirst. It is a thirst for salvation, a thirst from freedom from the law of sin and death. For those you have already accepted Him, the thirst can be a greater need to know Him more, to get closer to Him and to live by Him.
Jesus is the fountain of water. He is the well for all who are thirsty, those who want peace, righteousness and joy in the Holy Ghost.

He that believeth on me – The condition for drinking is to acknowledge that Jesus is the Messiah that God sent to save the world from sin. It is to acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God. No more, no less.

as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water – The evidence of a person who has come to Jesus will be obvious to all around him. His faith in Jesus shall flow and touch his neighbours. Rivers indicate abundance of supply.
The water that flows out can be dead which means it is of no benefit. Living water cleanses, it leads to growth and fruitfulness.
Do you want to be that person? Connect to Jesus today or stay connected to Him and eat as much as you can. Borrowing the words from an advert many years ago, “Coke is it”, I say “Jesus is it”.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, I come to you this day, I am thirsty. I accept that you are the Son of God and you died for my sins.
Fill me anew this day. Let your life flow through me, touching all around me and those fall away too in Jesus name. Amen

Help me to hear you, shutting away every distraction and following you at all times.
Thanking you father for the most important benefit of all – eternal life. I thank you because I am not a candidate of hell because I can’t be snatched out of your hand by satan.
I honour you father because it is wise to be a sheep of One who is greater than the greatest and who has never lost a battle. Blessed be your holy name. Amen.

John 5:30 a - Dependence on the Master

Thoughts
Jesus Christ though he was equal to God depended on his father for everything.
If you understand that God brought you to this world for a purpose, then it is wise to ask him to lead you every day of your life. For in him we live and move and have our being. That is the recipe for success.
Prayer
I want to succeed in life.

Help me Lord to surrender completely to you in Jesus name. Amen

John 21:6 - I will find

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Prayer

When the Master is speaking, let me hear.
As I hear and obey, I am confident I will not cast my net on the wrong side of the ship.
